Are you interested in getting some mylar bags done for your product? Curious about the options that we have and the limitations and capabilities of each? In this article BCP Jakob breaks down the differences between the 2 styles of bags. Giving you all the info you need to make an informative decision when purchasing bags with us.
What’s The Difference?
Sticker Bags
Sticker bags are blank mylar bags that are typically black, but come in an assortment of colors. These bags have a printed label on either one side or both sides depending on the presentation you want to give your product. These are great for smaller run drops, quicker turnaround times, but less options are available.
Direct Print Bags
Direct print bags are bags that have the design printed directly on the front, back, bottom, and for an additional cost can also include inside print. Direct print bags have higher minimums and longer turnaround times, but are cheaper than sticker bags in the upper quantities and give you a more official presentation, as the design of the bag spreads throughout the edges and gusset (bottom) of the bag.
Die Cut Bags
Die cut bags are the same as direct print bags, but cut out to the shape of your design. These bags require a mold to make which will increase the cost, but give you a fully custom shape and feel to your product. Die cut bags help you stand out from the competition and leaves the consumers jaw dropped to the floor.
Minimum Order Quantities
Sticker Bags
Sticker bags are the best for brands that are just starting out, or for brand doing smaller, quicker drops that don’t need more than 500 per design. At just 100 bags minimum order, sticker bags give you the most versatility and affordability when bringing your drops to life.
Direct Print Bags
Direct print bags are what you are starting to see more and more in todays market. Minimums for Direct Print Bags start at just 500 pieces. You can mix and match designs for a minimal upcharge, as long as the shape of the bag stays the same. So you can still leverage different drops throughout the 500, 1000, or whatever quantity you order. (Batch your designs together and order in higher increments to take advantage of bulk price savings)
Bag Material Finishes
Both sticker bags and direct print bags have similar finishes including Gloss, Matte, Holographic, Spot Gloss, Metallic Foil, and Transparent or Frosted. Depending on the vibe and feel you are trying to present, we help you to match the best finish for your mylar bags by looking at your design and deciding what will resonate with consumers the most.
